Perspective
The company, which develops children's aids, wanted not only a new product to supplement its existing products, but also a new standard for all future company products. Instead of continuing within the existing framework, innovative thinking was sought in terms of both materials and production methods. The briefing was: "Design the extremely flexible wheelchair of the future for children”.

People
Internal: 3PART design team.
External: Development team from R82, ergotherapists, physiotherapists, users, helpers and sales/marketing - global.

Product
The result of more than 3 years' development work, ”Cheetah” met with tremendous success when it was launched at Europe's biggest rehab trade fair in Düsseldorf in September 2003 and similar trade fairs in the USA. The reaction was unanimous – this is absolutely revolutionary. After just two months on the market,

Cheetah was nominated for the Danish Innovation & Design Award 2003.

Development director Flemming Møller says:
”We needed someone who could come in and turn the company around 180° – give us input and method flow. The designers developed new processes to optimise production and save on materials. The aids became not cheaper to produce, but also looked smarter and takes into account both user and helper – and it sells. We have already experienced tremendous demand for the new children's wheelchair”
