In collaboration with the customer, several “phantom” function diagrams were developed. A number of analyses were also made of existing products on the market in collaboration with users and helpers. As a result, several development areas were rendered visible.
The function diagrams were verified by sales teams from markets in Europe, the USA and Japan, and together with a list of USPs formed the basis for the project.
Ergonomics: Must be steplessly adjustable so as to be adaptable to the child's level of activity – a ”tilt in space” seat construction will ensure that the centre of gravity remains stabilised regardless of position.
”One size fits all” – must be designed to grow with the child in accordance with U.S. norms for aids.
Innovative materials: Lightweight construction, preferably in aluminium and glass-reinforced plastic – safety is all-important.
Logistics: Easy to assemble ”on location” – choice of three or four wheels.
Compact when in use and during transportation.
